Reporters notes[edit]

It seems a bit silly to have reporters notes for a photo essay. The majority of the photos are self-explanatory. But here goes.

I took photos from a spot in Regent Street, with the exception of the photo of the anti-gay protesters, which was taken in Lower Regent Street.

A full list of groups participating is online here.

The parade route and the fact that 'Love and Marriage' is a theme is described on the website.

That the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill debate is "continuing" in Parliament can be seen by looking at the status page on parliament.uk.

As for the individual pictures:

  1. Appearance and context should be enough to inform a reasonable person that this is a drag queen.
  2. That these people are part of Filipino LGBT UK is verified by the fact that one of them is hoisting a banner that says 'Filipino LGBT UK'.
  3. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  4. That these are topless barmen/go-go boys is deduction from the fact that a number of them have a temporary tattoo from Ku, a bar.
  5. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  6. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  7. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  8. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate. That the Metropolitan Community Church is gay affirmative can be seen on their website: "No matter your religious background (or lack thereof), your race, gender identity, sexual orientation, family makeup, disability…anything – you are welcome in MCC."
  9. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  10. The fact that this man is wearing a stewards t-shirt should be enough for a reasonable person to verify that the caption is accurate.
  11. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  12. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  13. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  14. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate. Although I cannot guarantee that she is a (male) drag queen rather than a woman in fancy dress, it seems like a highly reasonable supposition.
  15. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  16. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate. A number of the gentlemen in the photograph are carrying the Leather Pride flag.
  17. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  18. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate. That they are specifically Christian anti-gay protesters should be easy to determine from the presence of numerous Bible verses. After photographing them, they offered me a leaflet entitled 'Homosexuality and the Word of God'.
  19. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate.
  20. Appearance should be enough to inform a reasonable person that the caption is accurate. That it was at the 'end of the parade' can be verified by the fact that it is taken at 14:54.

If there still remains doubt that this is accurate photographic reporting of this event, please compare with Gay Star News and [www.guardian.co.uk/uk/gallery/2013/jun/29/london-pride-in-pictures The Guardian]. —Tom Morris (talk) 05:44, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
