OR notes[edit]

Per Wikinews:Original reporting: I was present as an audience member. I am an administrator on the English Wikipedia with the same user name. The story has so far been reported on the local television news service: ITV Tyne Tees (re comments about the Arena's statement). The JPS 00:12, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance? Non-notable[edit]

It seems to me this would fall under the category of non-noteable. This is no more important than if Granny Smith collapsed at the supermarket. I nominate this article for deletion. CaponeX 10:46, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It meets Wikinews:Style guide, and also has sources. Granny Smith falling ill is not news because granny smith is not notable and Granny Smith is not a famous well known person. Its not whether the news is important that matters, its whether or not it follows policy. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 10:56, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Meat Loaf is a recording artist on a major American label, who has released hit songs. He is notable, and so his suggested retirement is certainly notable. -- Zanimum 13:43, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would argue that if Granny Smith collapsed in a supermarket it too would be newsworthy. --SVTCobra 13:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A shopper stated, "There were apples flying everywhere, it was horrific. People stampeded out of the supermarket as the Granny Smiths were followed by the oranges." --Brian McNeil / talk 14:04, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I like Meat Loaf. I read the article with interest and more than a little dismay, more than I would do for a lot of articles. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 17:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A user appearing (although one with knowledge of policies) simply to criticise a ML related article is an experience with which I am familiar on Wikipedia. Just ignore. The JPS 16:10, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
