Statement from ZoomerMedia

[edit]

'I hope your well and yes, I'm very aware! The following statement ran on our radio stations, The New AM 740 – Zoomer Radio and The New Classical 96.3 FM, this morning:

"As we've been reporting since yesterday, Toronto Star reporter Daniel Dale has filed a libel notice over comments made in Conrad Black's interview with Mayor Rob Ford, which aired on Monday night on Vision TV. In an interview on the CBC today, Dale explained that he had decided by yesterday morning not to pursue legal action. However, he says he changed his mind after hearing a subsequent interview Ford gave to a Washington sports radio station. It's not known if the American Radio station will be added to the threatened libel action.

ZoomerMedia, which owns Vision TV, and this radio station, says that, "As there is now the threat of legal action, ZoomerMedia will not be making a statement until such time as we can consult with our attorneys to consider the allegations and determine next steps."' -Received via email Calvinhrn (talk) 18:25, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request for comment from the Office of the Mayor of Toronto

[edit]

I sent a request to the Office of the Mayor to offer an opportunity to respond to the allegations outlined in the notice. As yet, a response has not been received, but the article will be updated at such time as it is received, if at all. Calvinhrn (talk) 18:25, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
