Fire/police department press briefing

  • LAFD: Eric Scott—15-year-old female with gunshot wound to wrist; 30 y.o. female, 11 y.o. male, and 12 y.o. female with abrasion wounds, "predominently to head and face area"
  • Prompted by CBS reporter: boy is in critical but stable condition, most serious injury; next serious was female with wrist gunshot would
  • 50 firefighters, 7 ambulances
  • LAPD: Lt. Chris Ramirez, Media Relations Division—about 9 o'clock this morning officers responded to a call regarding a shooting call at Belmont High School, "and they also located the suspect who they took into custody without further incident. A gun was recovered at scene, and those students were transported to a local hospital where there are currently undergoing medical treatment."
  • School remains a crime scene
  • Chief Steve Zipperman, Chief of Police for w:Los Angeles School Police Department—LAPD is the lead investigator; one of the parents of the victims notified, and contact is established with other parent. Student taken into custody at local LAPD station. "Two students were injured and three other folks that have been injured as a result of peripheral stuff
