Comments by reviewer: I had problems verifying pre-race points, and the amount of days old he was (which I removed). Maybe next time. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). At least some of the other information may be in the raft of interlinked articles in The Telegraph, which the author seems to have treated as a "single" source. The 135 day figure is in "Sebastian Vettel factfile" — but unfortunately that page also says his birthday is July 3, which by my arithmetic is 133 days before November 13, rather than 135. I don't know exactly what to look for in the way of "pre-race points" (and when I tried, I thought I found something contradicting the WN article, but wasn't sure...). --Pi zero (talk) 13:45, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I went investigating. To the right of the main text in the Torygraph, hidden amongst the ads, there is a scrolling table of the final race points. This article mentions how many they won this race; you imply above you can verify those figures, so a bit of math can verify the pre-race numbers. The table gives the final points after this race as: 256 for Vettel, 252 for Alonso, 242 for Webber and 240 for Hamilton. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 20:00, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes Blood Red Sandman, I didn't see all of that, but still the article does not have a source the pre standings prior to the race, unless youe expect the viewers to subtract the 25 from the totoal to get pre-race? Can you do this? I wasn't sure. I though you couldn't, though.Nascar1996 20:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- The key point is to verify it, and allow people to see how we did that. After all, most people will not double-check our facts; displaying the sources is really a transparency thing. The idea is people can see where it came from, rather than that they should themselves verify the whole piece. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 20:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- If your're saying it can be published anyways, readd it and I'll publish it. Also, why isn't any of my articles added to the main page? Nascar1996 20:22, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I am, assuming you actually check the numbers against the source. As for adding articles to the main page, feel free to use WN:ML to do it yourself. (All articles appear on the Main Page, but not all are guaranteed to go on a lead). I tend to place sport on leads 3, 4 or 5 (on rare occasions when I actually edit the leads), but it's always a judgement call on what stories have been published and how long things have been there when deciding what goes on which lead. - Do you think that I didn't read them? I think this is interesting so I read it! So will you please add the {{review}} please? Nascar1996 20:30, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hehe, just making sure in case you thought I was saying I'd checked the maths myself. Template added. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 20:35, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I thought you was doubting that I read them. Nascar1996 20:52, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I added the direct link to pre-race standings as well as to the final standings from one of the sources; ESPN_F1. SputniK 79 (talk) 21:54, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- The thought is appreciated, but the article was verified from the sources at the time or it wouldn't have been published. Keep in mind that the sources section is a record of how the article was verified, rather than a set of external links to "read more about it". It's also too late to make substantive changes; that's only allowed for the first 24 hours after publication. --Pi zero (talk) 22:56, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
