Reporter notes[edit]

  • Arrived on Saturday, shortly after Noon. Lots of vendors present [art, horror movies, tshirts, horror related toys, makeup, costumes and haunt related props etc.]. Roughly 12:54pm, 2 speakers on the stage talking about technical issues in haunts: lighting etc.--Bddpaux (talk) 18:34, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • 3:00PM on Saturday, attended the entire class covering the topic of 'Haunt sliding' or just sliding. Teacher was Colton, who is the lead slider at Six Flags Over Texas theme park, during their Fright Fest held at the park each Fall.--Bddpaux (talk) 17:58, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
He explained that sliding is a kind of acrobatic performance, where actors sliding on concrete or asphalt, near customers, while wearing modified steel-toed boots, knee pads and heavily modified gloves, which creates sparks and a startle effect for patrons' entertainment.--Bddpaux (talk) 18:34, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Gloves use ferrocerium rods to produce sparks.--Bddpaux (talk) 21:46, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
All types of art vendors: hand drawn art etc. There could be an article just discussing vendors! Some cool makeup artists too: working up a guy in Werewolf makeup....AMAZING!--Bddpaux (talk) 22:06, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sunday, 12:18PM Watching a speaker, covering the business side of haunts in Texas. Straight from my notes: "Haunted attractions in the U.S. generate $300 million dollars - $500 million each year in ticket sales alone." --Bddpaux (talk) 21:46, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
