Images in this category should be for breaking news only. After a short while, a proper fair-use-rationale should be provided or the image should be replaced with a free alternative. Lacking either of these, it reasonable that the image should be deleted. --SVTCobra 02:03, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was suggested a while back (by BRS at the water cooler, iirc) that this template should be deprecated, as it doesn't fit very well with the way we do things nowadays. I've made an attempt at that. --Pi zero (talk) 11:43, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
