Infoboxes[edit]

@Pi zero, DannyS712: Pi, it is my understanding that Infoboxes need to be named this way (matching the category) in order for it to match up with the infobox lookup table. As you both can see Danny's {{Hurricane 2019 Infobox}} feeds off of the table for this infobox which I created. If I am wrong, I'll happily let Danny's infobox be the one we keep. It fits the naming convention of the older infoboxes in Category:Hurricane season infoboxes. Cheers, --SVTCobra 20:05, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@SVTCobra, DannyS712: The lookup table (the part that's customizable) iirc has to have the same name as the category, but the template wouldn't have to. The peripheral markup would have to be modified accordingly, instead of depending on the Hurricane 2019 Infobox magic word. On the other hand, giving the template the same name as the category would have the advantage of predictability, and the markup code wouldn't have to be modified. --Pi zero (talk) 20:15, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
OK, I deleted my template and transferred the talk (this) to here and updated the code to not use magic words. I don't recommend it in general. --SVTCobra 21:01, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
