I've been told, and do in part believe, that the most nearly perfectly "neutral" US English accent of any native accent is supposed to be that of Omaha. So US national news anchors try to learn to sound Omahan.

Your accent doesn't seem all that remarkable to me, but that may well be because my father (and his family for three generations before, not even counting the Miami blood) grew up in Indiana.
