Bullshit

This is total and complete bullshit. $45 for a fucking CARRY ON? What's it gonna charge? $100 for a checked back? Let's see, I buy a ticket for $100 for myself, check a suit case, carry a backpack... and my luggage will cost more to fly than ME?

This is, for all practical purposes, the same thing as raising the price of the ticket, considering most everyone takes on a carryon. Except that it looks better on the online ticket price list, and they can brag about having "lower ticket rates than the competition" - carefully turning a blind eye to the insane carry-on fee. Typical sneaky nickel-and-dime-ing.

Best news I've seen in a long time!! Maybe just maybe now those of us who actually follow the policies will get space to set down our purses and not be crowded out by all the morons who think bringinh their laptop/briefcase, backback or oversized purse and two weeks worth of clothes will be able to get through lines and actually use the space we pay for. I hope Spirit Air sticks to it!

Bah!

I don't fly regularly anymore, but I used to - with one carry-on case, enough for a long weekend, and no need to check anything into the hold.

In the twenty-odd years I've had that battered case, the carry-on allowance has got smaller, and smaller. Yes, it needed to; many people abused it, taking a case, and a bulky laptop bag, and a couple of carrier bags of duty-free.

But $45 for a single item carryon? Get to <bleep> <bleep> <bleep>! Just say everything you carry on must fit in a specific sized box or measuring device. If not, must be checked.

Instead, as others say, we're all getting nickled and dimed and conned with bullshit about ultra-cheap fairs tat are going to triple by the time you've sorted getting yourself and your stuff moved.

If you really want to know what crappy service is - scope out how nickle'n'dimed you'd get with Ryanair, they charge you if you want checked in by a human being and have even talked about putting a coin slot on the plane toilets!

This will be the worst decision that spirit will make. Spirit calls themselves an " ultra lost cost airline." This is by far the worst move by Spirit. I travel with them up to 4 times a month if they really do this I will opt to NEVER use spirit again.

I really hope that the Spirit really reconsiders there new plan.
