I notice bad weather in Oklahoma even Toronto.
Just a note that the live chat, noted in the testing call, as well as the chatbot, are available 24/7. The time slot is only about the volunteer availability (i.e. myself) to dedicate my full attention to the conversation. I hope you might like it. --Gryllida (talk) 01:16, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Re this -- png is almost half the size of svg, perhaps that's why? I might have done the same, is there any other reason I migth be missing?

- @Acagastya: It would be helpful if their edit summary was more than just "Replaced file". We have used the SVG on the template for almost eight years without anyone else thinking it needed changing. It isn’t even a generic template that might be used on other wikis but it is specific to Wikinews. This user (on their second edit on this wiki) decided the image needed changing but failed to provide even a brief explanation of why in their edit summary. If they’d said something like "Replaced file. PNG is smaller than SVG", I’d have probably thanked them for doing so. However, this kind of drive-by editing is not useful and I am surprised they have thousands of edits elsewhere but they don’t want to provide more than a cursory summary on a project where they are not established. If you or another established Wikinewsie wish to change it to a PNG, I’m quite happy with that. [24Cr][talk] 13:57, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- I was just guessing if that could be the reason; and considering the file size (yes, since I have been cursed with sub-optimal internet connection, I opt for lower file size) -- should we stick with SVG files for all templates, or opt for smaller file size? If we were to okay that change, am I overlooking something, while being focused on the file size?

- @Acagastya: I think it should be done on a case-by-case basis. In most cases, the SVG will probably be superior (size is one element of this) to other versions. Certainly SVG is the preferred option on some other wikis. However, if an alternate version is superior, I think we should go with that version. File size itself is important because many users don’t have high speed internet access (I definitely don’t). [24Cr][talk] 18:00, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
