[edit]Hi @George Ho @Wikiwide @BigKrow @Lofi Gurl @Back ache @Md Mobashir Hossain @Almondo2025, @Dsuke1998AEOS, @Ternera, @Monsieur2137 @Asked42, @Sheminghui.WU, @excelblue (if you want yourself removed or someone else added to this list, please inquire here) A revision has been requested. Here is a list of what to do. (If/when you intend to start working on it, please Subscribe to this section and to this talk page, and post reply messages here when you started and finished editing) See below:
1) Please provide tips or assistance to the software idea at User:Gryllida/sandbox
2) I am keen to do a kickstarter or something similar on it (like bounry on github). Would you think it a good idea?
In light of recent consultation to 'close all Wikinews', this needs to be implemented within next 2 weeks ? maybe ?
meta:Public consultation about Wikinews
3) Visit this page and comment in each section, inviting the users to participate in discussion at this talk page
4) You please expand meta:Response to Public consultation about Wikinews and you please ping users from that talk page linked in step 3, asking them to also expand that page.

- Don't you think that step 3 may come across as spammy? Ternera (talk) 03:06, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- Possible spammy...I have been meaning to tag them all at the "Response" page talk, but too overwhelmed with off-wiki things to understand how to do this in an organised way. It would be good if there was more than one user working on compiling the response report. @Ternera Gryllida 07:51, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Gryllida: I am probably stupid but I don't get it. The public consultation about Wikinews is, if I understand it correctly, about if Wikinews should be closed and archived or continue as is.
- If you want to sway that discussion, what you need is a compelling argument to keep Wikinews as is. Showing why you believe the model works, what the best content is, and what we lose if Wikinews is no more.
- Writing a bunch of JavaScript is unlikely to sway the opinion of the people in that discussion, right? But it seems that that is the focus of meta:Response to Public consultation about Wikinews.
- I don't know how you would sway the opinion unless you can prove that there are serious flaws in meta:Proposal for Closing Wikinews and are able to convince a large amount of people. Polygnotus (talk) 07:16, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- That bunch of JavaScript would help, I think, to address the issue of users being demotivated by the time consuming effort to put pieces together in a draft and continuing to work on it. Duolingo, for example, starts to whine if a lesson was not complete. Gryllida 07:53, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- Could you check my private messages on TG please? ~ Sheminghui.WU (talk) 08:39, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
