Hi Pi zero,

Thanks for this idea of keeping a log. Perhaps this belongs to the article talk page eventually -- I am not sure, it may be easier to discover this way! A couple observations so far:

0) The process of filling out the highly daunting {{source}} template has not been discussed.

1) Presumably some considerable amount of time was spent identifying the name of the inews source -- 'i (newspaper)' -- something that has an article at Wikipedia. That's a part that personally I accomplish using search engine suggestions. (In Firefox they are shown only for the default search engine; as a result, I type a name in the URL bar and get suggestions, but only for Wikipedia. If I wish to do a web search in another search engine, such as DuckDuckGo, I need to live without search suggestions.). :-P

2) Using Google News as the source of ideas for news is an interesting approach. It is software as a service. An alternative could be using an RSS feed reader populated with several news sources that you are familiar with, whose output is either local to your area, or whose output seems relevant or overlaps with your topic of knowledge. I would be interested to know how other people accomplish this, and what software or what sources they are using.
