Do you...

...know who handles the Twitter and Facebook page of Wikinews? It looks like nobody knows.

I used to have access to both. User:Brian_McNeil was much more active with them though - so he'd be a better person to ask. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 02:10, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I contacted, Brian McNeil, but he did not respond. The last tweet was almost seven months ago. If it is automated, the script is not working. And would you mind sharing the credentials? But before that, I run a Telegram channel where I share all of published articles. (t.me/enwikinews) The current @username for the channel is @enwikinews. I can not take the @wikinews username since it is already taken. According to the username policy:
If your desired username is already taken, we will be happy to help you acquire it for your account or channel, provided that you have that same username on at least two of these services: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
Since the facebook page and twitter handle has wikinews as the username, we can acquire that username on Telegram. This was their response:
Hello Agastya Chandrakant,
Telegram usernames are distributed on a first come - first serve basis, sorry about this. How about an alternative way of writing the name?
We understand that certain usernames are part of an online identity for some of us. If your desired username is already taken, we will be happy to help you acquire it, provided that you have exactly the same username on at least two of these services: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
If this is the case with you, we would ask you to post something on both those services so that we can confirm that they indeed belong to you. E.g. you could say something like 'This is for the Telegram Support. Please give me my username'. Once you've done that, please send us the links to those posts here. (You can later remove the posts, but please let us see them first.)
We hope this helps :)
In short, we need to post something that can confirm it. Can you please do that?

Welp. Turns out I still got the root creds on twitter (or can and did reset said password). If you've got a plan for connecting to it, let me know. I posted this for your usurp, let me know if you need more. This is my version of "We're not dead yet" --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 23:56, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. But wa similarl post is required on Facebook.

Unfortunately I'm not an admin on the Facebook group anymore so I can't help with that. Sorry! --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 20:07, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Afaik, recent facebook updates have been handled by User:Zanimum. --Pi zero (talk) 22:00, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, what exactly would I be posting to Facebook? -- Zanimum (talk) 22:51, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

acagastya was asking about Facebook... --Pi zero (talk) 23:40, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Zanimum: can you please post something like "telegram support - we are wikinews! Can we have @wikinews username on Telegram, please?"
acagastya 04:13, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've scheduled a post to go up at 8:38 am ET. News feed distribution ceases at 8:48 am ET, the shortest possible time for distribution, but the post will continue to exist on the page itself. This is to minimize the number of people seeing this message. Also meant to minimize, I've scheduled Sun's mood swings not so strange after all, say scientists to go live at 8:40 am ET. -- Zanimum (talk) 12:31, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
