Air Force Il-76 crash today in Algeria

See Wikidata: d:Q51747221 This is really some kind of news, so actually it should be first of all here on Wikinews, I suppose... instead, it is again Wikipedia which covers it first. Wikinews in Dutch has a short item on it now, other languages should follow. Cheers, De Wikischim (talk) 18:48, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(For suitable definition of "covers". Since Wikipedia is incapable of ever generating a news article; it can, however, gossip about the news.) --Pi zero (talk) 19:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
OK, then why doesn't Wikinews give an example of how it should actually be done? De Wikischim (talk) 20:44, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Content is not magically generated on any project. One writes what one is interested in, so if you are, then write about it, else quit complaining.

Russian poet Alexander Byvshev convicted for 2015 poem about Ukraine was newsworthy; and English Wikinews published it; neither did I find a single line about it on enwp; nor on nlwn. So I hope you realise it is not possible to cover everything (unless you break some journalistic ethics and back date the articles). So let us stop pointing fingers and focus on improving the content.
