Facebook posting.

Whilst we still lack a Facebook auto-post — and judging from the 'reach' BRS got trolling about their software, probably don't want one — here's something I discovered today:

Of course, I do recommend using the 'plain' page URL to post on Facebook (not the revid/approved link). You'll also find that their mobile interface will severely curtail the flexibility you have in posting on our page. --Brian McNeil / ^talk 22:40, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I ran through using the Facebook developer tools to try and get an image. It seems to be the problem stems from http being the default/canonical protocol for the site. Once I fell hack to using an http:// link to the article page, Facebook happily allowed me to pick from the images on the article.

Now, that might be related to the feeds coming off the site as-well as to the protocol. I hope the obnoxious banners over on Wikipedia raised enough money that the WMF can, and will, switch to SSL by default sometime this year. --Brian McNeil / ^talk 12:09, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
