I can participate on the election committee if needed, although I'll understand if a more experienced user is chosen instead. Kudu ~I/O~ 01:00, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I would imagine it would be fine to add yourself to the committee. The main purpose is to ensure voters are eligible and to declare the winners. —Mikemoral♪♫ 01:10, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I added myself unless anyone objects. Kudu ~I/O~ 01:24, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

voter eligibility criteria

[edit]

It is not clear if voters need to have 250 edits in wikinews or in any wikimedia project. Likewise for first edit date. It is better to be clear before a controversial decision arises.

It seems odd that administrators don't need to at least meet the same requirements as wikimedia foundation board members. Bcharles (talk) 18:05, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

It refers to edits on this project, English Wikinews. In all the years I've been here, and probably in all the years before I arrived here, there's never been any doubt about that; it's an "everybody knows" kind of thing, which, yes, there's merit to being explicit about. We're famous at English Wikinews for giving less weight in important decisions to those who don't contribute to this project. --Pi zero (talk) 18:39, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
