[edit] Usage

Use this template to request speedy deletion of a page on Wikinews. Type {{delete|<reason>}} to nominate it for deletion. For controversial requests, use WN:DR or WN:PROD.

[edit] Parameters

This template accepts certain parameters. You're requested to use them wherever possible, in order to maintain a standardised message.

no content No meaningful content or history/patent nonsense (CSD A1)
test page Test page (CSD A2)

What does this mean? Although it is possible to edit almost any page, creating pages solely for testing is frowned upon. As it's isn't news, they'll be deleted from article-space. If you want to test MediaWiki's edit interface, please use the Sandbox, or your user page.

vandalism Pure vandalism (CSD A3)
short article Very short article with no context (CSD A4)

What does this mean? Thank-you for contributing to Wikinews. However, this article has a problem: we're not sure what it is about! Don't worry, it's easily fixable: why not do us a favour by expanding the article a bit more, adding a bit more context as to what the article is about?

paste Clean up of cut/paste move (CSD A5)

What does this mean? Due to licencing issues, pages on Wikinews must be attributed. All pages on Wikinews (including this one) have a list of all edits made by users. Copy/pasting articles disassociates the history page from its article, and is frowned upon. Instead, everyone who has an account that is older than four days can move articles whilst keeping the history page intact. If your account isn't old enough, don't worry. Just leave a note on this page and someone will help you.

spam Advertising or spam (CSD A6)
author Author request (CSD A7)
hoax Obvious hoax or other work of fiction (CSD A8)
undelete Recreation of deleted content (CSD A9)
not english Article is not in English. The author may wish to look for another language project more suitable. (CSD A10)

What does this mean? This is English-language Wikinews, and so we only can accept articles written in English, but Wikinews has projects in many languages. You may be more suited to contribute at a different language project; to start an article in another language, select one below:

Bosanski · Català · Deutsch · Español · Esperanto · Français · Italiano · Magyar · Nederlands · ‪Norsk (bokmål)‬ · Polski · Português · Română · Suomi · Svenska · Türkçe · Česky · Български · Русский · Српски / Srpski · Українська · עברית · العربية · سنڌي · فارسی · தமிழ் · ไทย · 中文 · 日本語 · 한국어

typo Redirect resulting from a typographical error in headline (CSD R3)

fair use The image contravenes the project fair use policy. (CSD I1)

The reason stated above only applies to images, but this tag has not been placed on an image page. Please check carefully before deleting.
