Etiquette

Wikinews editors may edit any page on the site except those which have been protected in accordance with policy. Wikinews is extremely liberal as to who may edit the site: anyone with an internet connection and who is not currently blocked in accordance with Wikinews's blocking policy. However, on occasion a user may lose the trust of the community, and the community may choose to remove the privilege of editing here.

This page hosts both requests for removal of editing privileges (de-editing) and requests for restoration of editing privileges. These requests are archived for historical reference.

Contents

[edit] Guidelines

  • Requests for de-editing may be submitted by any Wikinews user.
  • Requests should be certified before the end of the request voting period.
  • A simple majority is required to remove an editor's privileges.
  • Requests for de-editing are listed for 7 days, after which the votes are tallied and discussions archived.
  • A 70% majority is required to restore an editor's privileges.
  • Requests for restoration of editing privileges are listed for 7 days, after which votes are tallied and discussions archived.

[edit] How to list a user for de-editing

Create a de-editing request by copying the following text, submitting the user's name or IP in place "Username".

Wikinews:Editors/Username

After filling in the template and saving, come back to this page and include the page below, using {{Wikinews:Editors/Username}} (substituting the user's name, as you did above in the box.)

[edit] User:Neutralizer

Special:Contributions/Neutralizer As can be seen from this user's edit history, the user has a long history of disruptive behaviour within the community, and is specifically harmful of the project's goals of neutrality and community development.
