Ted Rall v Los Angeles Times

I started a prepared article with an outline and a link to one of the subject's blog posts here. The short, short version is that a journalist and political cartoonist named Ted Rall claims that his employer, the Los Angeles Times, illegally fired him for writing pieces critical of the Los Angeles Police Department. This occurred after LA Times was partially acquired by the LAPD pension fund. He also claims he was blacklisted and that freedom of the press is at stake.

Where we come in: He also says that other journalists, mainstream journalists are afraid to write about his story for legitimate fear of reprisal. Maybe this is something we could help with. Wikinews is in a bit of a unique position to fill a gap. Darkfrog24 (talk) 20:22, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Sounds like a story to handle with close attention to neutrality, which is a thing of ours. How we approach it would depend, presumably, on what resources we have available to draw on. --Pi zero (talk) 20:49, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Of course. Even though we could use an interview to deal with our timeline, we would need a foundation in traditionally published sources. For background, at least, it would be okay if those were old. Darkfrog24 (talk) 20:57, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
