Adding categories to archived articles
How do I add a category to "Ohio man charged with second-degree murder of Charlottesville, Virginia counter-protester" — Wikinews, {{{2}}}? Darkfrog24 (talk) 16:17, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- Use {{editprotected}} and add it to the talk page of the article along with which category you feel should be added. --SVTCobra 16:38, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- For now, done. For the future, is there a way I can do it? Darkfrog24 (talk) 19:25, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- We've discussed various possibilities. One plausible approach is to have an assistant that lets an ordinary user seemingly "edit" a fully protected page, but then when they "submit" their edit it produces an editprotected request on the talk page that contains within it a description of the change, with assistance then provided to an admin so they can easily inspect the edit, and reject it or accept it or modify it. Thus greatly streamlining the user's proposing changes and the admin's vetting them. --Pi zero (talk) 19:35, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
