This election seems to be getting a disproportionate amount of coverage compared to other elections elsewhere in the world. Whilst I understand that this is partly because a large number of US citizens use the English Wikinews, there are other nationalities present as well, so shouldn't action be taken to counter this systematic bias? Does anyone have any ideas? --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 18:50, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You could say the same thing about the Zimbabwean elections. A disproportionately high amount of coverage, yet in this case, probably no Zimbabwean contributors. Wikinews is to small to accurately systemic bias versus statistal anomaly, and certainly too small to do anything about it. We are all volunteers and write about what interests us. We also have a lot of satellite launch coverage and general space coverage, when compared other scientific fields. I just don't think that we can do anything about it without telling people what they can write about, and I don't think we want to go there. --SVTCobra 19:17, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Zimbabwe elections deserve coverage due to the events that have unfolded while the US elections are the same as every other US election. Anonymous101 (talk) 19:29, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not to seem nationalistic or anything, but I think the U.S. elections deserve more coverage because as the world's only superpower, the U.S. has more influence on world affairs than any other country. I'm guessing that's why other countries are caught up in the U.S. elections as well. ~Planoneck~ 19:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't mid particularly, as long as no objections are given should others attempt to give other elections the same level of coverage. The 2010 UK elections, for example. Would that be a problem? --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 20:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
