Not too smart

This was probably not the event to state in public that he doesn't give a shit about the Greek victims of Ataturk. It's so dumb in fact, one might suspect he was hoping to elicit a response like this.

Anyone who wants closer ties with what's happening in Turkey has, at the least, something strange going on in their head. It puts me in mind of Donald Trump advocating more friendly diplomatic relations with Russia. Nobody I know of age 75 or over would deliberately set themselves up for a beating; but then, I don't know anybody advocating cozying up to these sorts of regimes.

I just watched the video. It wasn't like he received a back alley beat-down. He had an entourage with him. But, damn, the entire crowd was against him. Throwing trash at him, yelling at him. And then a few guys, on separate occasions, ran in close enough to throw a punch or attempt a kick.
