President inconsistent with his words?

Has Trump been planning the right time to fire Tillerson for months? If not, why has Trump dismissed the idea as rumors?

Doubt it. I don't think he is capable of making sophisticated plans. He does everything spur-of-the moment. For example, he didn't mention it to a single person before he announced his meeting with Kim Jong-un.

It would, however, be a mistake to underestimate his ability to implement long term plans (especially if they're simple). I agree these high-profile moves are generally whimsical.

What long-term plans do you speak of? I can only think of one, which is the wall.

The long-term plan to enrich himself and his family? How on Earth he got away with not putting his businesses into a blind trust, I don’t know.

I was actually thinking of massive long-term undermining of democracy.

He tends (as I recall, but no I don't remember specific cases atm) to say especially outrageous things when it's convenient to distract the news media from something.

Just like the idea of a Space Force popped into his mind the other day.

It's all leading up to the eventual unveiling of Darth Trump. The real question is whether he is the Master or the Apprentice?
