Notes[edit]

The interview was conducted via email when wikinewsie was functional. Just to be on the safer side, I have shared the email (reaearch paper attached in it) with @Pi zero:. The three graphs were plotted using the data available as the supplimentary material (mentioned in the sourves as well as on the 5th page if the research). It was generated using Plotly library and Python. Their local talk pages contain the source code to generate the SVG. I had tweaked the opacity and subscripted the text by editing the SVG.

copy-edit[edit]

I see there is a temperature written as "28°Celsius." Not sure what the manual of style says about using the degree symbol and then writing out the word ";Celsius" (I tried to check. It seems silent on the matter.) Would be nice if there were something similar to Wikipedia's "{{convert}}" template.

Also: the sentence "They monitored growth of E. coli using optical density measurement, and they used hæmocytometer for yeast" needs to be copy-edited (I don't know what "they used hæmocytometer for yeast" means. And, I have added a comma between "Dr Seager said" and "It's kind of hard to get your head around..." 108.31.98.86 (talk) 21:22, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re temperature conversion, I've applied a format we've used before; I agree with its use of a space after the ° symbol, don't feel strongly about whether to include the Fahrenheit conversion. Our style guide is deliberately minimal, leaving much to the discretion of the reporter and providing a document short enough for a contributor to read through in its entirety in one session. I see we do have templates {{C to F}} and {{F to C}}, though they've almost never been used. --Pi zero (talk) 23:30, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"They monitored growth of E. coli using optical density measurement, and they used hæmocytometer for yeast." Read the entire sentence and it indicates only one thing.

Review status[edit]

Just to note, I have done the usual prelim check for similarities to source, and found nothing problematic. (Actually, it all felt so familiar that I'm pretty sure I did it twice, each time as a sort of gentle way to ease into the article, and had simply forgotten I'd already done it — hence my noting it here while I'm quite, quite sure it's been done.) --Pi zero (talk) 01:42, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've checked the interview against source materials provided. I've not yet checked the intro. --Pi zero (talk) 04:09, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked the intro. What remains at this point is an overall sanity check, for which I have in mind to wait till morning (my time, at least eight or nine hours from now). --Pi zero (talk) 04:34, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
