Original Reporting notes

Attended event in-person; travelled Edinburgh, to Glasgow Queen Street station (next George Square), walked to venue, The Arches, underneath Glasgow Central station.

Event started at 2pm, and was very busy by 3pm. Staff of venue indicated was close-to capacity (600).

Music from DJ until close to 3pm. Bar available, stalls for Common Weal T-shirts, stickers badges and leaflets. Also separate infopoint for Jimmy Reid Foundation, and a couple of books on their politics were available.

Started with the new video, included in V-report. Janey Goodley took stage after video, some joking/panto for sound-check before introducing Robin McAlpine.

Goodley took over from McAlpine, made a few more jokes before introducing David Whyte (Tangent design) who talked about the logo (missed from video, of minor import/'payback' for Tangent doing the work).

Goodley then took over to introduce fellow comedian Bruce Morton who joked around his part of Glasgow being a 'republic'; followed by folk singer Karine Polwart and actor Tam Dean Burn.

Event was scheduled to be 2pm to 5pm; speakers and entertainment over by around 4:15pm, DJ took over but crowd was departing and hall was half-empty by 4:30pm. --Brian McNeil (talk) 06:00, 12 December 2013 (EST)
