- 8/25/17 @2:33pm The UT thing......there is a banner at the top of the main page for UT Tyler (don't know how long it'll be there) that discusses that (every time I try to cut/paste, it vanishes). --Bddpaux (talk) 19:40, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- 8/25/17 @2:36pm I like to keep my place of work private, but I was talking with a supervisor today (Public Health agency) and he mentioned he's gathering names of our staff who're willing to go south to help with any fallout. --Bddpaux (talk) 19:42, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- 8/25/17 @2:47pm It's afternoon, in August, in East Texas....and it's 83 degrees F outside! That's not normal....very pleasant, but overcast with very little wind....strange. --Bddpaux (talk) 19:48, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- 8/28/17 Darned NBC news article has already shifted on me! --Bddpaux (talk) 13:55, 28 August 2017 (UTC)

Title
[edit]Should "hurricane" be capitalised in the title and lede? I don't think I've seen it lowercase; I've seen "Hurricane Harvey" being used in most places. -- numbermaniac 07:40, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
- Probably it should be, yes. We don't really like to rename an article after publication, as this can produce duplicate entries in some feeds. Perhaps this detail is minor enough to wait until after the article is archived (i.e., removed from the main page, and feeds)? --Pi zero (talk) 10:17, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
- But why? Hurricane is not a proper name.
acagastya PING ME! 11:03, 29 August 2017 (UTC)- Similar to titles of people; per WN:SG#People's titles in general,
- Governor Jane Smith of Milliana
- Jane Smith, governor of Milliana
- Likewise,
- Hurricane Harvey
- Harvey, a hurricane

[edit]{{moveprotected}} We need to mention where Texas is located.

- My inclination is to let it stand as-is. As I recall we've often named Texas alone in the headline and clarified the country in the lede; here alas we don't name the country in the lede either, but imperfect though that may be, I don't see it as {{correction}}-worthy. --Pi zero (talk) 07:04, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
