Headline

[edit]

The use of "now" feels odd (I can't off hand articulate the general headline-principle here, but I sense there is one); and it's also desirable to an active verb (headlinese omits the "is").

I'm unclear on whether "Abortion now legal in Australia" is accurate, as that gets into its status in the other Australian states. So I'm also not sure at this point what to suggest; but some sort of tweak to the headline seems warranted. --Pi zero (talk) 22:45, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

I get you and I'll do something, but it is across Australia after this per BBC. --SVTCobra 22:48, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Much better.

What NPR says about South Australia is a bit more complicated. --Pi zero (talk) 23:08, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Notes for the reviewer

[edit]
  • South Australia was difficult to parse. I hope I explained it correctly but I can only say I gleaned it. I can't say for sure, but it's the only thing that makes sense.
  • If the South Australia is not passable and 'across Australia' is dubious, feel free to trim the title.

NPR links to Children by Choice Australia's Facts+Figures tab. "Abortion is the subject of criminal law in all Australian states and territories, except the Australian Capital Territory." But then they talk about when various states decriminalized abortion. --Pi zero (talk) 12:59, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
(Noting, that tab at Children by Choice hasn't been updated for the change in NSW.) --Pi zero (talk) 13:07, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
