Talk:Ranil Wickremesinghe sworn in as Sri Lankan President
Add topicAttribution needed
[edit]This statement: "As Prime Minister under Rajapaksa, Wickremesinghe is seen by many as part of the problem and had offered his resignation but instead took the post of Acting President after Rajapaksa fled." needs attribution. Wikinews is certainly not in a position to say this is true, so who is saying this is the view of the many? It can be easily resolved by adding "according to <insert source or name>". Review of revision 4684609 [Not ready]
[edit]
Revision 4684609 of this article has been reviewed by JJLiu112 (talk · contribs) and found not ready at 04:42, 22 July 2022 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: Lacks nuance: "Wickremesinghe is seen by many as part of the problem" isn't enough context. Explain controversy, else it appears Wikinews is picking a side: BBC uses 'many' but elaborates on WHY they used the word (he is deeply unpopular), is there any nuance ("some protesters have said they will give him a chance") & respected in political and diplomatic circles, what has he said, and also what do others say. Not saying we celebrate Wickremesinghe, nor that we vilify him; synthesis means representing the situation more fully whilst staying concise. Also, "Wickremesinghe needs to restore political stability". Needs? No, he is AIMING TO (BBC), and Al Jazeera only quotes Jayasuriya when describing Wickremesinghe's "immediate tasks". Big difference. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

- @JJLiu112: A new version is ready for review. Just the same two sources as I assume you already read them. Trying to streamline these things. Cheers, --SVTCobra 06:54, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
