According to WN:SG there is no comment one way or t'other regarding specifically periods and spacing

According to wikipedia there are a few conventions to choose from full stop spacing.

French spacing is one space, typography is one and a third spaces, and English or American spacing is two spaces following a period.

This article uses two spaces after a period as conforming to English or American spacing and not French spacing. Please advise.

Perhaps this is what to take up via the live chat or emails.

Regarding the French spacing, we only use one space after the period because if you use more than one, the excess ones will not be visible. For example, this is one space after the period:
". "
This is two:". ".
This is three:". "
As you can see, this makes a difference when viewing in the edit window, but not when looking at the page normally. Thus, it ultimately doesn't matter, but for the sake of economy only one space is usually used. Thank you. This I didn't know. School papers and what not do the 2 spacings. I will convert over to one space after full stop sentence periods.SriMesh | talk 03:39, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
