  • Quote from a citizen of Chandler (J.M.) today, [1:55pm CDT]"My son has traveled all over the [country] playing baseball. For towns this size, no place has a baseball complex like we do here in Chandler." Bddpaux (talk) 22:16, 20 July 2012 (UTC)
  • I found the current population via Google Public Data (link here:,+texas )
  • I first heard in a local ceremony held on (approx) June 29th that this state tournament would be held at this baseball complex......the speaker noted what a significant event this would be for such a small city as Chandler. Bddpaux (talk) 16:54, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Attended the event tonight from 6:40pm - 7:55pm...........didn't get a hotdog, though.....the sacrifices one makes for journalism!!
Interviewed an umpire at 7:12pm(didn't catch his name), stated that over the next 4 days, there will be approx. 10 games per day, beginning at 8:30am each day. Bddpaux (talk) 01:27, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Approx attendance, including coaches and players.....about 800. Bddpaux (talk) 01:27, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Additional notes.....umpire told me 1st game daily at 8:30am and last game should wrap up around 11pm nightly. Games will run Monday - Thursday. Comments made by event MC and Mayor during opening ceremony......."17 teams total are here for this week" and(mayor),"We're looking for all of you boys to have a great time and welcome to Chandler." Bddpaux (talk) 01:31, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Also, during observations, observed Kids Zone (the usual.....slides,bounce houses and the lot; dunking booth with assorted coaches entering and exiting(smart fundraiser!!)Bddpaux (talk) 01:52, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Review of revision 1563699 [Not ready][edit]

I'll up the emphasis on one point. It's not good at all that the details in the article that weren't in the cited source were also not in the reporter's notes. It leaves the reviewer having to exercise judgement on each point that wasn't in the cited source, to decide whether it's reasonable to suppose the writer actually observed that, as opposed to, say, having mistakenly thought they read it in the source. --Pi zero (talk) 17:30, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

  • Ok, fixed Mayor's name.....(brain cramp).
  • Problem with the source article is.....our local rag only publishes twice per it'll be Thursday (or so) until I could grab could I get an inch or two here (ideally, I should've submitted before the event, so we'd be able to keep before, now, later squared away)? I'm going to try to get my OR notes and the article's content lined up.....honestly, my kids were a bit unruly last night, and frankly, I might've readie'd this a bit too early! Bddpaux (talk) 23:15, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
  • OK.........reviewed my notes from yesterday......and tried to get things matched up properly. Also the general "tone" of the WHEN of event....I think I's now 95% about a ceremony that happened yesterday and what that ceremony was connected to. Bddpaux (talk) 02:00, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
  • I think everything should be matched up a bit better now......this article was NOWHERE NEAR READY last night! Bddpaux (talk) 02:10, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
