Notes[edit]

Re Klopp was BVB's manager in 2013, which lost to Bayern, this should be helpful:

  1. "Klopp previously served as the manager at German football club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and won the German Bundesliga with them twice. Klopp held the position of Dortmund manager until May 2015" from Jürgen Klopp signs 3 year contract with Liverpool
  2. "Lahm has also won the UEFA Champions League in 2013 against Bayern's arch rivals Borussia Dortmund 2–1 at the Wembley Stadium" from World Cup winner Philipp Lahm to hang up his boots

That's very helpful. Adding these on the article (but even so, it's very helpful to specify here just what is relevant in each of them). --Pi zero (talk) 03:44, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That two came for very specific single line on information for the reviewer to help get around the stuff. If I was a reader, I would not want them to be there.

Re-checking the sources, I agree we can probably dispense with listing all the individual World Cup games, although technically I don't think any of these other sources say that was his only goal in the World Cup. However, I wouldn't hold with leaving something off because the reader might not want to see it. Some Wikinewsies have held that the only reason for listing something as related news is that it's used as a source, which imho is going a bit far but certainly technical need as a source is a prime reason for listing things there. --Pi zero (talk) 13:26, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(That said, I've no objection to some other source for that information; that is, it needed be that particular Wikinews article, though any alternative should be settled within the 24-hour horizon.) --Pi zero (talk) 13:29, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
