Possible revision[edit]

I probably should have noted which parties were planning on counter demonstrations.

This edit could be substituted for the last paragraph:

Counter demonstrations planned by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Nour party have been postponed or cancelled in fear of escalating violence associated with the protests.

Revision: make sure to unquote the sentence when the speaker has finished talking.
Add more background information on the Arab Spring, and why the Egyptians are upset about this recent decree.

Thanks for pointing out the close-qoute; we can do that under the archive policy, as it's a non-substantive copyedit. Done
We don't add information to archived articles; that would be altering the historical record, literally rewriting history, and is anathema to news ethics. The archive policy kicks in 24 hours after publication. --Pi zero (talk) 23:31, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Review of revision 1716124 [Passed][edit]

The passage about being reminiscent of the earlier protests is kind of vague for hard news. More specific would have been good. --Pi zero (talk) 20:04, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Can you please replace the "2011 Egypt anti-government protests" category with the "2012 Egypt anti-government protests" category on this page? thanks -- The Egyptian Liberal (talk) 22:19, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

Although I'm still trying to figure out how Wikinews really ought to organize this stuff, for the moment I've added it to the 2012 category as you request. Interestingly, it didn't belong to the 2011 category in the first place. --Pi zero (talk) 00:59, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
