Talk:Turkey strengthens air defence at Syrian border following shootdown
Add topicNPOV
[edit]I've only had time to do a quick once-over, and won't be able to do anything with this tonight (sadly), but it looks to have pro-Turkish bias problems. The bit about leading the efforts to remove al-Assad in particular seems... iffy. Also, a few days ago the Turks were claiming the aircraft was in international airspace. Maybe I've missed an update (in which case I apologise), but I'm not convinced this plane was in Turkish airspace if even the Turks aren't prepared to claim it was. In any event, the whole incident was disputed with Syria claiming it was a legitimate response to a misunerstanding.
I haven't much sympathy for the Syrians here, but that doesn't allow me to ignore their side of all this. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 23:16, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- To me, the bit about Turkey being in the forefront of efforts etc. looks fundamentally non-neutral, in the sense of presenting as fact an assessment that should be attributed. Indeed, the following sentence attempts to defend the claim, which to my mind makes it especially clear the claim should be attributed per WN:NPOV. --Pi zero (talk) 23:22, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Note: Some edits have been made and hopefully they solve the problem. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 14:34, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Review of revision 1543434 [Passed]

Revision 1543434 of this article has been reviewed by Blood Red Sandman (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 18:32, 30 June 2012 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: I see Reuters is unashamedly describing Turkey as "at the forefront", unattributed. Part of the reason this sat so long awaiting review (sorry!) is that the Wall St Journal cannot be accessed by some reviewers. We think it blocks traffic from some parts of the globe unless they pay, but will allow traffic from other places e.g. Europe. The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |
