[edit]Because he was caught. And I would hope people don't fall from escalators every day!!! That would be truly terrible. ;-) SriMesh | talk 21:38, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- Given the number of people in the world and the number of escalators, I guess that there would be at least one fall a day somewhere in the world, in this case its newsworthy because i)the fall occured because the child was clinging to the outside of the escalator ii) the child was saved from injury by being caught in midfall, iii) there is cctv footage of it, and the cctv footage has been picked up by broadcast media, I've tried to reflect this by giving the article a new title and rewriting the intro.KTo288 (talk) 22:43, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the time you have spent. I was wondering if a story could be made of this incident without the video. Several news media are reporting it, but I am not sure how they can all be showing the video footage, what the coprights are on the original. SriMesh | talk 22:50, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'd say this is borderline newsworthy, but the title needs to indicate that the incident occurred on an escalator. Tempodivalse [talk] 22:53, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
