This the first wacky news I CREATED. But this Santa ice sculpture is the largest in the world ever. Please help in publishing this. Merry Christmas to all. --Florentino Floro (talk) 08:36, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Title

[edit]

As I read the news sources vis-a-vis YouTube video of the ice sculpture, I chose Father Christmas rather than Ice Santa, since the snow sculpture depicts more of Fr. Xmas than Santa. Wiki English say - Father Christmas: "the character is similar to, and in some places such as the United Kingdom, interchangeable with Santa Claus. Although "Father Christmas" and "Santa Claus" have for all practical purposes been merged, historically the characters were different."

I know that usincg Ice Santa is sweeter to the ears in titling. But I leave the discretion to the reviewer and publisher to change or retain my proposed title, since I am just the CREATOR and this is a collaboration.--Florentino Floro (talk) 06:09, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Photo

[edit]

The photo in use on this article, and as a complimentary image on the lead, is confusing. It is NOT of the Chinese Ice Santa. --Brian McNeil / talk 11:51, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I had included this, since, I searched Commons but found none, because this sculpture is so recent. I had seen some news articles that use similar pictures noting in the description of the image that this is a similar image. Like in the LA massacre, I found in AP source the burned Dodge car of Pardo, and I used the Commons' Dodge image. I am just in love with images. Maybe, I should have added a note of "a similar Father Christmas" inside the image. But, the readers can open the sources and will find many pics of Father Christmas, hopefully. Cheers.--Florentino Floro (talk) 08:16, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
