Okay, now I get it

It took me a few moments to realize what was going on with Leaked cables cause Australian concern. You were, I take it, doing just what the passing template says to do. Sigh. Those instructions are seriously misleading... --Pi zero (talk) 16:30, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes, I just followed the template. Did I make some form of mistake? Thanks ~YTT (talk)
The template made a mistake, by instructing you to do something that it should not have instructed you to do. Nobody but a reviewer should put a {{publish}} tag on an article, as part of the independent peer-review procedure; and even then, it's almost always done automatically by the "easy peer review" gadget that we use. In this case the EPR gadget malfunctioned, so that a manual intervention by a reviewer was called for. (It also happens that when I came along later I thoroughly botched the manual intervention, but that's another matter.) --Pi zero (talk) 01:50, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Okay, I didn't know about that. I'll watch out for it if it happens again. ~YTT (talk)

Stale

It wouldn't actually be necessary for you to do anything to precipitate deletion; the article was already on its way to that fate. The {{stale}} tag is effectively a "PROD" — a proposal for deletion. As is the {{abandoned}} tag. After an article's been tagged with those for about a couple of days, without challenge, somebody deletes it. --Pi zero (talk) 08:03, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

World news quizzes

It's great to see weekly quizzes again (and, knock wood, great to see our output high enough to support them). Two administrative suggestions: when you create a new quiz, add a section for it to the talk page; and {{votings}} assumes that quizzes are created on sunday, so if you create a new quiz near the end of the week the automatic notice will be crying for a new quiz after only a day or two. --Pi zero (talk) 14:36, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

New question on your Accreditation Request

Hi Yurtle :) I'm just dropping this note to you, to let you know that I have asked a new question for you on your Accreditation Request, concerning OR. Take care, and good luck with the request. BarkingFish (talk) 02:54, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Please don't

do this. I just created it and am in the middle of writing it ... I click save and get an edit conflict for ... posting initial notes? If you think it needs cleanup, please wait until at least a few hours after I start the article. Thanks, fetch·comms 03:38, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Parcel found at US Embassy in Rome, taken as a false alarm

Hello friend! I've tried to improve this article. I had started the article, actually. I've renamed it, please rename if the current name is not appropriate. I've also deleted the extra sources and chosen the few which are really valuable. I've marked it as needing review. Please recheck it. Thanks, --Sainsf :) (talk) 12:53, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

  • Hi there Sainsf. Unfortunately I am not a reviewer (looks as if BRS has reviewed it anyway). In regards to the editorial cleanup, you have done a good job in removing unnecessary soured from the article (it will make the reviewer's life much easier). In terms of the POV issues, BRS added them onto my tag so I haven't really looked into it too much. Good luck with the article :) ~YTT T | C 14:02, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
