EZPeerReview

[edit]

Can you enable the EzPeerReview gadget in user preferences and use that for reviewing? It does all the sighting and publishing magic. (See RC). --Brian McNeil / talk 00:06, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's what I've been using since Blood Red Sandman told me about it in RC. --Thunderhead 00:40, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
Nope, just got the "Article has been successfully reviewed." message. There was an edit conflict, but I clicked cancel. --Thunderhead 02:08, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Someone edited it while you were filling in the review template; cancelling the edit conflict obviously stopped the gadget finishing the full process off. Probably need to report that little issue to Bawolff. --Brian McNeil / talk 03:14, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your reconfirm

[edit]

Hi Thunderhead! I've closed your admin reconfirm as a success, given the unanimous support in one week's time. Hope to see more of you around here soon. Cheers, Tempodivalse [talk] 04:49, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your support for my RFA

[edit]

I would like to thank you for supporting my successful RFA and for your confidence in me. I look forward to serving further the English Wikinews community in this new capacity. I shall take the new tasks required of an administrator on board step by step and will make the utmost effort to fulfil the role to the best of my abilities. Kind regards Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 12:43, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

News Brief clean up - thank you!

[edit]

I really like the new format for the table to put the audio brief in. Looks very professional. Thank you very much for doing that and I'll add the code to my template so it stays in this new format. Thank you again for doing this! I only wish I had more people to add to the credits because it's embarrassing having my name on there 3 times. Hopefully, once some more time passes and I'm more settled into the project, I can start trying to promote and recruit people to read, write and produce the audio briefs. Turtlestack (talk) 03:11, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

News Brief Table Format

[edit]

I was having trouble adding multiple names to the credits for the table you wrote for the news briefs. Both Benny The Mascot and I wrote the briefs today, but I can't add both of our names to the credits. I tried adding an extra line, but it would not display correctly. I will need to be able to add multiple names to all of the categories for the credits (producer, readers and writers) as more people help with the audio portion. Just send me a message if you have any questions and thanks again for all your help. Turtlestack (talk) 02:27, 3 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

So, Miss Moneypenny

[edit]

Uh-huh....

You reviewed Former Australian police media director Stephen Linnell's perjury conviction quashed with a non-SG-compliant source. Consider yourself trouted. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Whoops, my bad! --Thunderhead (t - e - c) 02:40, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

C'mon

[edit]

Are you trying to bring a tear to a hardened cynic's eye?

I'm referring to your comment on the disruption that is another attempt to de-crat me. Thank you for your support. Now, if we could just knock that Wikipedia mindset out of the more recent intake there would be less issues. Their own drama, such as "Waaaah! I'm leaving while big, bad Brian is here, is churlish. --Brian McNeil / talk 06:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

EFF interview?

[edit]

Is this still current?

If not please delete or archive it. (I am just in a cleaning up mood - nothing personal.) --InfantGorilla (talk) 14:12, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Any EFF stuff where you'd like some help, give me a shout. Interviewed their European legal liason a few years back in Brussels, caught up with him over INDECT, and have him in my Skype contacts. As numerous of their staff know who I am, I can probably put in a good word for any Wikinewsie out to do a related story that needs OR from them. --Brian McNeil / talk 14:59, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Busy elsewhere? We understand, but this is a notice of privilege expiry!

Note! Your privileges on English Wikinews have been reduced.

Under the Privilege expiry policy (enacted October 13, 2012) the rights held by your user account have been reduced due to inactivity, or lack of privilege use. You can view your user rights log here.
Point 4 of the Privilege expiry policy provides for fast-tracking reacquisition of privileges. We all understand that real-life commitments can severely curtail the level of commitment you can give to Wikinews; the privilege reduction is in no way intended as a reflection on your past work, or to imply you are unwelcome. The aim in curtailing privileges is to address security risks, and concern that a long period of inactivity means you may not be up-to-date with current policy and practices.

Wikinews Writing contest 2013 is here. :) Please sign up to participate?

[edit]

We've created the Wikinews:Writing contest 2013, which will start on April 1 and end on June 1. It is modeled on the successful 2010 contest. It would be a really great time for you, as an inactive Wikinews accredited reporter, to renew your credentials by doing some original reporting or conducting interviews. People should be around to interview to prevent a backlog, and several reviewers have access to scoop to make it easier to review any original reporting you do. If you are interested in signing up, please do so on Wikinews:Writing contest 2013/entrants. There is at least one prize on offer for the winner along with the opportunity to earn some barn stars as a way of thanking you for your participation. :D --LauraHale (talk) 10:26, 25 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
