- Name: Hugo Kneebone
- Location: Australia
- Areas of interest: Technology and politics/conflicts.
- Reason: I would like accreditation as to enable me to get interviews for original reporting. (I would like experience in writing articles other than those of a synthesis style).
- Accomplishments: Australian Federal Police say Wikileaks committed no crime, Many unaccounted for in Christmas Island boat incident (broke the story soon after the event occurred).

Comments, questions
[edit]- Who would you pick as a first 'interview target'? Or, would you be seeking to supplement synthesis reports with original materiel? --Brian McNeil / talk 17:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Both really, but I would hopefully like to interview (or at least contact) local, state and federal government sources on both national and international issues (I hope accreditation will assist me in doing this). ~YTT T | C 23:45, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Who would be your first choice for someone to interview face to face? --Brian McNeil / talk 17:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Most probably a member from the local or state government (easiest to get in contact with). ~YTT T | C 23:46, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- What techniques do you intend to employ to obtain OR? --Brian McNeil / talk 17:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- I do not intend to make face-to-face contact with my sources but rather use email and telephone in order to contact them (and of course I would compose a transcript for them).~YTT T | C 23:46, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Were you to come across a story which required "On the spot" reporting, for example, an incident such as a road accident or a major fire, would you feel comfortable (based on your previous answer to Brian McNeil) with carrying out face-to-face interviews, and how would you handle them if you did? BarkingFish (talk) 02:49, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I would interview people on the scene (as long as circumstances permit). I would most likely find the most appropriate person at the most appropriate time to talk to people involved in the incident. I would ask questions following the 5Ws+H to help compose the article and get the basic facts down (and if I had my phone/other device with me, I would record the conversation and then compose a transcript at a later date for OR notes). ~YTT T | C 04:27, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]- Yeah sure --RockerballAustralia c 08:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose I'd like to see more original reports firstly. Same reason goes for Bobby. I want to see how good are you both getting first-hand information, organizing it, etc. It's not so easy, in my opinion. Diego Grez return fire 23:11, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Totally backed -- The answer given by YTT in response to my question above shows me quite clearly this guy has his head well and truly screwed on. It would be a pleasure to have him as an AR. BarkingFish (talk) 05:16, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support as has answered as well as can be expected above. Point to note: Picking up the phone is orders of magnitude more effective than email. --Brian McNeil / talk 01:01, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Making up; but, deeply concerned at voter apathy. --Brian McNeil / talk 18:44, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
