Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

83.134.75.215, welcome to Wikinews! Thank you for your contributions I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!

Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:

There are always things to do on Wikinews:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikinews, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information (not even an e-mail address), and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages (the "collaboration" tab at the top of the page), or the comments pages (tab "opinions"), please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Brian McNeil / talk 18:33, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

Please stop fill our pages with a bunch of stuff...RE: Deletion Requests. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 23:59, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

too bad the page in question belongs to a person that questions the theory of everything. If it's not clear, I'll repeat it; the theory of everything.

As such the links are not only neccesary but very helpful as to the 7-day consensus period concerning the deletion request--83.134.75.215 00:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All those links? no...at this point its getting close to link spamming. The article is there and posting 100 links will not make things better. DragonFire1024 (Talk to the Dragon) 01:01, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do not ever remove other's votes from a deletion request. --Brian McNeil / talk 07:20, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, you did not remove votes, but a casual inspection of the page following your score of edits certainly made it seem that way. There is absolutely no need to cut and paste the entire sources section from the disputed article into the deletion request, people can click the link and judge the article for themselves. Such items also belong in the Comments section. A vote should be accompanied by a brief justification, not pages and pages of stuff. --Brian McNeil / talk 11:21, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah but that was because you we're moaning that there weren't any 'theory of everything' sources for this specific relativity theory

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikinews pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four w:tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the w:Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!

Suggestion[edit]

I have 2 suggestions to make. First off, create an account. It's just easier to know who you are talking to when you are looking at a meaningful string of letters instead of a random IP addy;). Second, please use the preview button. Not using the preview button is a mistake many people make at first. Using the handy preview allows you to see what your edit will look like before you save it, allowing you to make many little changes (such as fixing spelling errors) without making many different edits.Gopher65talk 05:00, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The username may offend some and you probably shouldn't use the name of a book anyway. Would you be willing to use a different username. Anonymous101 (talk) 15:37, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for getting a different username Anonymous101 (talk) 15:45, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
