Talk:Mass protests prompt Sri Lankan cabinet to resign

[edit]- Image: I couldn't find any appropriate image related to the protests. This is an image of an old protest. 2006nishan178713t@lk 19:23, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- I am not sure the 2014 demonstration reflects the current situation at all. It is a stark contrast to the images in the sources. --SVTCobra 00:42, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
Review of revision 4671758 [Not ready]

Revision 4671758 of this article has been reviewed by JJLiu112 (talk · contribs) and found not ready at 00:34, 3 April 2022 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: The article lacks the authoritative and detail-driven focus all Wikinews articles must have. This includes the use of a. Charged language: "created havoc" is used flippantly without any elaboration b. Allusions and implications: "disruption of the ever-profiting" seems to imply, or gives the impression the government has mismanaged Covid; or the tourism industry is known for profit c. Choice sources: both tweets are condemning the Sri Lanka government; apart from one sentence in the lede, there is no effort to include the government's angle; the image is from 2014 but seems to imply correlation, again, without source I have endeavoured to resolve some of the more minor issues. Please provide details that justify the particularly-contentious inclusions, diversify the sources or otherwise include supplementary information. Wikinews has a history of including articles where there can very clearly be a 'bad guy': but we must never stray from the objectivity our precedent has mandated. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

@SVTCobra, JJLiu112:, kindly review this before it goes stale. 2006nishan178713t@lk 18:09, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- @2006nishan178713: At this point, I think it is best to reorganize/rewrite with a new focal point. Not only is it super close to being stale on its own, but there have been major developments in the story. I am referring to the cabinet resignations. Cheers, --SVTCobra 22:42, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Comments by reviewer: See my comments in edit summaries. Pay attention to verb tense. Were electrical outages deliberately omitted? The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

@SVTCobra, thanks for reviewing. Yes, the topic of electrical outages was deliberately omitted as I wanted to keep the article short and focused on the resignation. 2006nishan178713t@lk 19:07, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Edit
[edit]Please remove Category:Tourism. Based on the reviews above, it appears all mention of tourism was removed at some point. Heavy Water (talk) 13:18, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
