"Reasonable"

[edit]

There doesn't seem to be any mention of the Union's demands, which I've heard rumored at 8% along with some other unreasonable clauses.

It's not up to me or you to say what's reasonable or not between the TWU and MTA offers. Thanks for signing your post -- NeoAmsterdam 04:00, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

do transit workers count as public servents

[edit]

i think someone needs to look up public servent in the dictionary the reason is i don`t think transit workers count as public servents i don`t know for sure but could someone check for me PLEASE.

"Public employees", not "servants". The answer is yes. Thanks for signing your post -- NeoAmsterdam 02:22, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for a refreshing dose of sarcasm. - Apollyon 23:28, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
What can I say? Commuting is stressful.
The reason why I went sarcastic was because the post was written by someone who didn't read the Taylor Law even though it's linked to and it's the crux of the matter! The strike is illegal. Period.
Sorry for the rant, but I've just had another "Do you go to Flushing?", Port Jefferson/Washington passenger having a hissy-fit... -- NeoAmsterdam 00:10, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Union Category

[edit]

Is there a Wikinews category for US Labor Unions? If so, we should add it. Chadlupkes 18:11, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Go for it! :-) -- NeoAmsterdam 19:29, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Did Newsday leak the PATH secret?

[edit]

Can someone confirm for me that Newsday ran a story that suggested using the PATH as alternate trasportation? -- NeoAmsterdam 19:38, 21 December 2005 (UTC) Cat's out of the bag. -- NeoAmsterdam 00:03, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Port Washington

[edit]

That section is very important. People are taking Port Jefferson trains instead of Pt. Wash. (Pt. Jeff. doesn't serve Flushing). There's enough confusion as is, so let's see if we can prevent some. -- NeoAmsterdam 00:03, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Union named incorrectly

[edit]

The union international is called the TRANSPORT Workers' Union, called "the transit workers' union" by everyone because that's that who's in it.

Good call, Mr. Anonymous.
I fixed it yesterday (or the day before maybe).. --Chiacomo (talk) 22:14, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Please replace

[[ja:ニューヨークの地下鉄とバスが全面スト]]

with

[[ja:ニューヨーク・公共交通のスト解除]]

because ja:ニューヨークの地下鉄とバスが全面スト, which was a redirect to ja:ニューヨーク・公共交通のスト解除, was deleted (back in 2005). Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 18:04, 26 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not done The request new link is already linked to Striking NYC transit workers will return to jobs and does talk about the strike ending per Google Translate. --SVTCobra 05:59, 27 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
