Title[edit]

I have some concerns about WN:Future and it isn't exactly clear in the article if the legislature needs to approve the move or not. Cheers, SVTCobra 03:22, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed WN:Future for the lede & title. Hopefully the additional statement "government will detail" with existing quote "'Cabinet will introduce a national control list'" OK for second point: essentially, government is appending their export controls to include DUVs, &c. @JJLiu112: Unfortunately, there are more than three Reuters sources, so I hit their paywall and was unable to verify "ASML CEO: Would not change 2030 growth targets if China excluded" and "U.S. aims to hobble China's chip industry with sweeping new export rules". I can bypass it with the Wayback Machine, but I seem to recall you expressing disapproval of such in the past.
Is it possible to find replacements for these? Heavy Water (talk) 15:29, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, Reuters hasn’t got a payment paywall, just a registration paywall, which is permitted: “It is acceptable to link to sites that require free registration, but never those that request payment to view content on the site.” The issue is with sites like WSJ, The Telegraph, FT, NYT etc that have a hard limit on free articles. Reuters doesn’t have that once one makes an account. JJLiu112 (talk) 17:19, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll use the Wayback Machine, then. Heavy Water (talk) 17:20, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding "User:", this is where I learned that. Heavy Water (talk) 17:40, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And it's supported by the documentation of {{image source}}. Heavy Water (talk) 17:45, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK! JJLiu112 (talk) 19:25, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, it wasn't WN:FUTURE I was referencing with the Reuters-Japan sentence; they said Japan could adopt these measures as soon as this week, so it could be later. Heavy Water (talk) 19:41, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, gotcha. Hope this clarifies. --JJLiu112 (talk) 19:49, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
