According to CNN: The US State Department began tracking Gershkovich’s arrest Wednesday afternoon before the news broke publicly, according to two US officials. I suppose that could be ambiguous. A paywalled source I cannot use says his last known free movement was entering a restaurant Wednesday. Nevertheless, I will reword the lede and resubmit for review. --SVTCobra 00:06, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

Well, I meant it was risky to assume the time the State Department "began tracking" his arrest was simultaneous with the arrest. But the more I think of it, perhaps that was unnecessarily cautious. --Heavy Water (talk) 01:43, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
