Wikinews:Arbitration Committee/2012 election/Nominations and voting

From Wikinews, the free news source you can write!

I would like to be a member. I feel like I can work on dispute resolution as required as I generally have cordial relationships with most of the current regulars so no disputes that would make it difficult for me to work on. I've been involved as a participant in English Wikipedia where I was party to a dispute and that gives me a perspective on how to do things.

  2. Support Laura may be irked were I to use the term "curmudgeonly", but as-per WN:NOT we need people who have more than just a clue about this project, and will be plain speaking about this project's interests and needs. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:43, 18 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]
  3. Support, why I have not had much dealings with this user. She has my support as I have seen good things. Not often I say good things about Australians ;) Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 13:16, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Does the project proud. How could I not support William? He, tirelessly, pursues the 3rd-tier US political candidates, provides comprehensive OR notes, keeps people appraised of what he's up to, and has helped define some of our review processes. On top of that, he's almost-always particularly civil and pleasant to deal with. This is a user who understands the "mission" of Wikinews and I trust implicitly when it comes to mediating, or deliberating, on ArbCom cases. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:55, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support Generally does a very good job on the project and appears to have its best interests at heart. --LauraHale (talk) 13:14, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Support, if Brian and Pi support. I shall support. Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 13:18, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Have served before, happy to do so again as cases are, thankfully, so rare. --Brian McNeil / talk 16:14, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pleased to nominate Brian, one of my colleagues on the current ArbCom. I asked Brian whether xe would accept nomination, and xe has indicated xe would (here). --Pi zero (talk) 01:44, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Support. I may not agree with Brian's religious views, but that's largely irelevant. He's a longstanding contributor, whose real-life activities curtail an ability to contribute here. However, he knows what the raison-de-etre of the project is and I trust hin fully to work on any ARBCOM cases. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:46, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support I don't know the user well enough so basing my support based on my trust of pi zero's endorsement. --LauraHale (talk) 13:15, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Paul is more-than-capable of fulfilling the role of an ArbCom member. Has clue, knows when to step back and cite CoI, all work on-project has been positive. "Real-Life" may-well curtail his on-wiki activity, but I trust that he could take on any ArbCom case that came up. --Brian McNeil / talk 21:50, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
