Welcome[edit]
Sinfony81, welcome to Wikinews! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
Our key policies - if you read anything, read these!
- Wikinews:Neutral point of view - tell every side to a story in a fair and balanced way
- Wikinews:Cite sources - everything in a Wikinews article must be sourced
Here a few pointers to help you get to know Wikinews:
- Wikinews:Introduction - overview of the site
- Wikinews:Writing an article - how to write and publish a complete article
- Wikinews:Content guide - what's suitable for Wikinews
- Wikinews:Contents - the contents page.
There are always things to do on Wikinews:
- Existing articles need expanding and checking for spelling and mistakes
- The front page lead articles often need updating
- Developing stories need finishing and publishing
- Discussions need your input
- If you're interested in audio recordings, Audio Wikinews could always use more contributers
- And of course, stories need writing!
By the way, you can sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, you can ask them at the water cooler or to anyone on the Welcommittee, or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!–Doldrums(talk) 15:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Sports contributions[edit]
We have a page, Wikinews:Sports coverage, where we're trying to get the various people interested in writing sports to collaborate. You might want to stick your details there and you can ask other contributors to help and do things like watch changing match reports when you're not online. By the way, welcome! --Brian McNeil / talk 14:54, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
OR Notes[edit]
Hi again, I notice your article on the India-Bangladesh match claims Original reporting, can you put something on the talk page for that? If you were lucky enough to attend the match, tell us - otherwise you have to do the more mundane and cite what TV channel/program you saw the match on.
As an aside, you're showing the Indian flag on results, but not the Bangladesh one. --Brian McNeil / talk 22:00, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
ICWC[edit]
Thanks for the articles on the world cup, it's delighting to see that the cup is been covered on wikinews Brian | (Talk) | New Zealand Portal 19:38, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, excellent work, thank you. These are actually the most popular items on the RSS feed at the moment (I looks after the Feedburner account), getting several hundred hits a day. Dan100 (Talk) 01:57, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Your cricket article contributions are great! Keep up the fantastic work! --Skenmy(t•c•w•i) 18:02, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you look at these charts, you'll see that you're one of the top-10 editors on this site with the most edits in the past month. Therefore, I'd like you to consider this: User_talk:Neutralizer#A_Hopeful_Request, since you are probably the only non-administrator in the top 10. Keep up the good work!--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 22:20, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
