- Done Except #8 (to which I added Manchester United) and #9. Those two are not about this club and the name is only mentioned as the next matchup for another club. --SVTCobra 20:37, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra: certain things you should know for these kind of requests — which is understood by me and pizero — create redirects; protect them, wikify the articles.
•–• 08:12, 14 March 2018 (UTC)- @Acagastya: Creating the redirect makes sense but you could have done that yourself, however, wikifying the articles would be much more time-consuming, which would slow down the process of populating the category. Also, it is my understanding that Pi zero has an on-going systematic project of going through the entire archive for the purpose of wikifying. Didn't want to interfere with that project. --SVTCobra 17:27, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra, Acagastya: Wikifying is a big task, yes. One of my major candidates for semi-automation (and I've discussed it with Gryllida too, so there's more than one vector from which a device for that task might come). But, if you do feel like wikifying the occasional article in our archives, surely don't let my long-term project discourage you! It's not like we have a shortage of articles to wikify so we have to ration them. It's a very welcome discovery, when I go to wikify the articles from a given day, to find that some of them have already been done. I sometimes do drive-by wikifyings here and there myself. My only caveat would be, if there's a local target and the article isn't in the target category but should be (or, it's not clear whether or not it should be), either add the category, or use {{w}} so the matter is flagged out to be revisited eventually. Laziness is a sufficient reason for leaving a {{w}} for now instead of adding the category. --Pi zero (talk) 17:48, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- @SVTCobra: yes, I can do it now. I could not have done it before the category was populated because that would lead readers to empty category which “makes Wikinews look ugly”. I think it is better if the one undertaking the categorisation work creates after populating so that we don’t forget. Recently, I have started listing the redirects to be created — but these things, I guess Pi zero and I had that understanding evolved over time and if you are also going to use the dashboard at {{testing}}, I must let you know about the tasks which are expected to be done so that nothing remains incomplete and we don’t need to spend more time in future.
