Review of revision 4801819 [Not ready]
[edit]
Revision 4801819 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and found not ready at 14:31, 16 October 2024 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: The lede mentions the trial's conclusion in April 2024 but lacks the timing of the judge's statement. Additionally, the "how" is unclear, as it doesn't specify whether the judge's clarification came through a formal statement, interview, or another means of communication. The lede should be expanded given the overall length of the article. In addition to summarizing the article, the lede should draw in the reader by giving enough details to generate curiosity. Also revisit the style guide to ensure all basic elements are compliant. For example, were the fines in US$ or AU$? We also don't link to Wikipedia in text. However, you can add a Sister Links section. Also remember to order sources newest to oldest. Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing {{tasks}} in the article with {{review}}). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

- Is the timing of April 2024 not implied enough?
- I specified that it was through a spokesperson; otherwise, the means of communication is not specified in the sources.
- By lede, do you mean the lead?
- What specifically should I change to fit with the style guide?
- The sources do not specify whether it is Australian or US dollars; one would presume though given that this is in Australia and the sources are Australian, they are Australian dollars.

- April 2024 is when the trial concluded. The "When" that needs to be answered in the lead/lede is when Lee said he had no involvement in the book.
- According to the News.com.au article, the spokesman was not Lee's spokesman but a Federal Court of Australia spokesperson and the spokesperson, not Lee, said Lee had no involvement; "...in a statement, a Federal Court of Australia spokesperson said neither the court nor Justice Lee were at all involved in the book." That should be clarified in our article (as you've correctly done in the second paragraph). Our headline might need to be changed as well. The headline from the Morning Herald is more accurate than, for example, the News.com.au headline.
- Correct. wikt:lede#Noun_2
- Specifying which dollar the article refers and removing inline sourcing were what I initially found. You should read the style guide and see if you can find anything else that needs to be changed. I didn't fully evaluate against the style guide.
- If you have determined they are AU dollars, then our article should use the format specified in the style guide.
- For your first few articles, it may help to actually write down your answers to the 5Ws + H and build your article from there. In this case, if you start with the question "Who" and you answer "Judge Lee," then the rest of the questions are clearly pointed at Judge Lee and that will help avoid confusing or misleading dates of what happened when and how.
- The changes you've made to the lede so far are an improvement. Once you feel you're ready for the article to be reviewed again, you can change {{tasks}} back to {{review}}. —Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 14:53, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
Review of revision 4802521 [Passed]

Revision 4802521 of this article has been reviewed by Michael.C.Wright (talk · contribs) and has passed its review at 21:02, 21 October 2024 (UTC).
Comments by reviewer: This was an 'expedited' review partially based on encouragement by User:Gryllida and their proposed, modified review system discussed here: Wikinews:Water_cooler/assistance#Mailing_lists. Authors should be careful about quotes pulled from source articles. Our article used a quote but minus important punctuation indicating the quote was modified (clarified).(diff) Without that punctuation, our quote would have been a misquote. See the edit history for additional changes made before publication. @Gryllida, RockerballAustralia: it would be greatly appreciated if you can do a quick proofing of my review here within the next 24 hours. Thanks! Michael.C.Wright (Talk/Published) 21:02, 21 October 2024 (UTC) The reviewed revision should automatically have been edited by removing {{Review}} and adding {{Publish}} at the bottom, and the edit sighted; if this did not happen, it may be done manually by a reviewer. |

Hi Michael.C.Wright,
- I don't know if it is technically possible to include country into headline. If not, that's fine, no need to do anything for now.
- I've rearranged paragraphs for 'inverted pyramid' (WN:IP) please check I didn't plant any mistakes or confusion?
Thanks! :-) Gryllida (talk) 22:10, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
