Spoken Wikinews[edit]

Great job on the recordings. Cheers, --SVTCobra 23:25, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Can I suggest you add Spoken Wikinews In Progress to the takl page not the article. Thanks, Anonymous101talk 20:10, 3 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wikinews Trophy[edit]

I, Anonymous101talk, hereby award James Pain the Wikinews Trophy for your excellent audio recordings.

Just as an FYI. You had a double of the first sentence of the article, in the audio. I've clipped it out and uploaded a new version. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 06:15, 5 September 2008 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Another barnstar![edit]

I, Tempodivalse, hereby award you the Wikinews Audio Barnstar for your many audio recordings of our articles. Great job! Tempodivalse [talk] 19:16, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yeah I saw them, great work, I can't listen to them at the moment, but keep it up! Dotty••| 19:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ha, like your userpage! Dotty••| 14:52, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hehe, I've mentioned you at the bottom left. I almost had the ability to be creative but then I saw your page and thought feck it and just copyed and pasted. --James Pain (talk) 15:55, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Lol, it said you awesomified it & then I saw it! Anyways, it's not my original design, so all good. The beauties of copyleft. :,) See you around. Dotty••| 16:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I award you the Voice Barnstar for your great voice and the fact you let the whole world hear it by contributing it to many articles :D Irunongames play 18:44, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yup, really good work on the audio. I'll have to do another Thailand story to give you some tongue-twister names. --Brian McNeil / talk 09:27, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please see Wikinews_talk:Audio_Wikinews#iTunes & let me know your thoughts! Good work. Dotty••| 10:41, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Uhm hi Queen Thando (talk) 21:06, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

news brief pages[edit]

Great work with the audio stuff. I was just wondering if you could add <noinclude></noinclude> To the bottom of each News Brief: date page you make. That way they aren't mis-identified as developing stories in Wikinews:Newsroom. Cheers. Bawolff 21:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

p.s. I made some changes to the date category code, so that the categories recognize news briefs with names of News briefs:<date> (lowercase b and no space after the colon) as well as News Briefs: <date> (upercase B and space after colon). Hopefully that will make the categories work more like they should. Cheers. Bawolff 21:59, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Nice one, thank you very much. Edit the code in the news briefs as much as you want, what I do each day is just copy and paste it into the next days page, replace the script text and changing the dates. Again thanks --James Pain (talk) 22:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hows it going?[edit]

Hi James, Just wondering whether you think you're going to be able to keep up with the audio?   Tris

I will, I've just cleared up college and I was planning on restarting any time from tonight and friday. Down side is that I'll be away for a week (next week) so there'll be another gap in audio. --James Pain (talk) 20:07, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No problem, just wondering! I would help if I had a microphone-maybe one day!   Tris   20:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Audio News[edit]

I can help while you are away (I did this before) but I never found out how you can make it so when you post a new audio file the previous file will show in the archive list. How do you do this? Do you do it manually or what? Thanks. 14:20, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Andimahony —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andimahony (talkcontribs)

Recent articles with dual audio templates[edit]

Hi James Pain. Some articles that you have recently edited for audio have both the Article-audiobrief and Audio box 2 templates. I believe they should have one or the other, not both. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:34, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Here are some examples: Workers at England wind turbine plant stage occupation and Black spot on Jupiter is impact site, says NASA. Cheers, --SVTCobra 01:37, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding IRC[edit]

While I was eating, and when I came back, everyone but me was kicked out. Is this just me or did it happen to you? ConCompS (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Standard netsplit, all is resolved. --James Pain (talk) 01:46, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

How to start Wikinews audio in another language[edit]

Hai James Pain, I want to ask you, how do I start this audio to Wikinews in Malay?

Smim90 (talk) 13:24, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Replied to on your talk page. --James Pain (talk) 14:41, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Have you had any progess on the Wikivoices episode from just before Christmas? No worries if not, just interested to listen!   Tris   20:51, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh crap, I didn't realise people were still waiting on that. I'll upload it somewhere this week. --James Pain (talk) 21:01, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Awesome. Can you ping me when you do in case I don't notice. Thanks!   Tris   12:27, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Canadian track and field coach Charlie Francis dies at age 61[edit]

Thank you for reviewing the article. Just to let you know that i have edited the article about the athletes trained and the first source (The Guardian) does mention the cause of death being announced by his family.

Regards, Chandlerjoeyross (talk) 14:00, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That Guardian fact must have slipped by me. Put it up for review again and I'll give it another look through. --James Pain (talk) 14:04, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey, thanks for your review. If you have a moment, I wonder if you'd take a look at my comments and share your thoughts. Much obliged, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:35, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Done--James Pain (talk) 17:11, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks a lot for your help! It's much appreciated. Now... back to those pesky vandals! :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:48, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Heh, no problem. Keep up the good work --James Pain (talk) 18:49, 13 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey, just wondering what the practice is here with copyright violations. I'm still getting used to a lot of things here- on WP I would have zapped "Internationally recognized educational journals restricted in Russia" on sight. Thanks in advance, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:56, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Just add  :) --Diego Grez return fire 19:58, 15 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What he said ^^^. There are numerous pages on how we handle stuff, if you dig around enough, you'll find what you need to know. --James Pain (talk) 11:03, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
We do also have the option to zap copyvios straight off. I did it yesterday because the story in question (Air India disaster) was obviously likely to get a ful write-up without any need to keep the copyvio hanging around. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 11:18, 23 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Welcome back, James Pain :-)[edit]

Seeing you back is unbelievably encouraging. Thanks!

I am in a former British colony, now keen to learn about brexit developments from you. I didn't know there is a possibility of another vote.. --Gryllida (talk) 02:59, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I've added a couple notes to the talk page, including link to a page with heaps of photos about it at Commons. --Gryllida (talk) 22:35, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Very grateful. Thank you! --James Pain (talk) 22:45, 7 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
