OK, it is time for your joking to end. You are potentially offending people, both here in the Wikinews community and the wider readership. What you are doing could be seen as vandalism and you could get blocked from editing Wikinews for it. Be careful and be serious from now on.

Orkut

Hi, I believe you owe me an Orkut invite (whatever that is). Thanks, --Nzgabriel | Talk 08:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

User:Terinjokes/AW.rss

[edit]

I don't think that will work as it won't send the right mime type. You can only convince Mediawiki (to my knowladge) to send it as text/html text/javascript or text/css. You need it to be sent as application/rss+xml which I think can onbly happen with some sort of mediawiki extention or if its on a seperate server. Bawolff 17:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually some readers proablly won't care. some will which is a problem. Maybe some wikimedia developer would be able to tell us some way for http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=user:Terinjokes/AW.rss&action=raw&ctype=application/rss+xml . Bawolff 17:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Audio

[edit]

Nice that you uploaded, I'll listen at home tomorrow. I wont be able to keep up at this rate though, I was thinking maybe we can find a small number of back-up volunteers? Like a schedule were you can plan when you can't read one and someone takes over.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 22:32, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree, I was thinking exactly that. Maybe we should first have a clear idea of how to organise it and then ask some of the former contributors on their talk pages or something.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 09:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I used Audacity. It allows simple cutting and pasting. I used the previous recordings to copy from. The "official wikinews theme" as indicated on the wikinews briefs page *cough*... sucks. :-D If you want you can copy-paste the starter and finisher themes from my recordings, or alternatively I could add them for you, post-factum.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 18:08, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

newsletter idea

[edit]

Hi, (I hope you don't mind this general message, I'm just randomly contacting people from my talk page)

I've had an idea after reading User:Kinnerc/WhereToWikinews? that might make people more aware of what's currently going on on this site, what discussions are being held, where help is needed etc. I've designed a little signpost-like box that I would like to introduce as a newsletter to post on user talk pages. Of course, the majority is copied from the Newsroom, which I think people don't visit often enough. Oh yeah, and the title should probably change :-D

I would appreciate some feedback on the idea, and also I'm interested to know if you would subscribe to such a newsletter. Please go to User_talk:Stevenfruitsmaak/Goings-on.
